NHSMUN
What is the NHSMUN Conference?
"The largest high school conference in the world, NHSMUN 2019's two sessions will host 5000 participants from more than 75 countries and 300 schools. NHSMUN is known for its diverse, prestigious attendees, world-class staff, proven substantive excellence, and accurate, engaging committee simulations. Held at the United Nations Headquarters and the New York Hilton Midtown, NHSMUN exposes students to high-profile, relevant United Nations figures, including a visit to the ambassadors or representatives of the Permanent Mission of the countries they are representing. During recent conferences, NHSMUN has welcomed a wide variety of interesting figures, ranging from UN, government, and military experts like US-UN Ambassador Samantha Power and Ret. General David Petraeus to UN humanitarian programme directors or celebrity advocates like President & CEO of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF Caryl Stern, Mandy Patinkin, and Demi Lovato. We take pride in the high level of debate in our committees, which provide students with an unparalleled opportunity to experience the theory and practice of international relations firsthand. Students attend opening or closing ceremonies in the UN General Assembly chamber, where actual diplomats convene every year."
